About

Hi! My name’s Jahed Ahmed. I’m a Software Developer living in London, United Kingdom. Other than making software, I’m into video games, anime, manga and most of the things in between.

What are you working on?

You can find out what I’m working on by checking my blog and following me on various social networks. In general, my projects consist of games, web apps, and various open source software.

If you want to support my work, consider becoming a Patron even if it’s just for a $1 one-time payment.

What’s your profession?

I’m currently a Senior Software Developer at Unruly, an ad-tech company based in London, United Kingdom. The majority of our work is around web applications. It’s a bit hard to summarise what my day-to-day job is. It’s kind of everything: front-end to back-end, analysis, research, implementation, support and more.

If you end up being interested in working at Unruly (maybe not even as a developer), drop me a line and I can refer you.

What did you study?

The majority of my practical experience is self-taught gradually over years of tinkering and picked up in the workplace via research and collaboration.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. For my dissertation, I made “Audio Dungeon”; an audio game for the visually impaired.

How do you pronounce your name?

“Jahed” is pronounced like Jarhead without the ‘r’. “Ahmed” is pronounced a number of ways, you can pronounce it as “Ah-med”.

Believe it or not, my name’s somewhat common so I use other names for my accounts when it’s taken; such as “Hedja” and “HedjaHead”. These are just a play on my real name, so just call me Jahed.

How can I contact you?

I’m pretty much on every social network. Check the list along the sidebar for my most frequented ones. Alternatively you can email me, but there’s no guarantee you’ll pass my spam filter. If you don’t mind contacting me in public you can also just leave a comment below.
